Where the Clear Waters Flow

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since my last post. I guess I'm not sure that many people are coming here so I may not be updating as often as possible. I always do a new update when I have a new video however, and I just finished this one.

I love shooting water, especially the clear mountain streams of the Adirondacks. This is a collection of clips from the last few years, mostly very recent but a few of my old favorites to round things out. I'm not sure if anyone really wants to hear the details as far as gear used, etc. If so, add a comment and I'll fill you in! Or visit Exposure Room or VIMEO, search my name and those entries have that info. Also you can view this and all my short films in full HD there!

Have a great summer and get out there and enjoy the weather!

I would love to hear about the gear you used for this shoot. Your work is absolutely stunning and I'm a big fan. I too have a production company called PilotGirl Productions and would love the opportunity to swap stories whenever you're in the Albany area. Check out my site (pilotgirl.tv) and travel blog (PilotGirl) on the TU. Thanks again for your images.

Thanks Sonja! Great site and blog you have. You sure keep real busy! I use a SONY EX1 XDCAM EX camera. For this video I used my Letus 35mm adapter, it allows me to use Nikon still lenses for shallow depth of field, achieving a more film like look. I also used a indiSlider, a small dolly track that I mount on my tripod for dolly moves and also a light weight crane for the jib shots. I only use the EX without the lens adapter for those shots as it's too heavy with it.

I sometimes do shows for WMHT in Troy. Do you do aerial photography?

Paul - you are so talented. Can't wait to set aside time to check out all your work. It's magical! Perhaps we can catch up in person next time I'm up on the farm. For now, I can watch your videos when I'm homesick.

Thanks Stef! Great to hear from you. This is what I do for my "therapy". Love shooting nature. Let me know when you are next at the farm. Would love to shoot some farm stuff too!

I saw the CobraCrane ad and followed your work to your site. "Awesome" doesn't cover how beautiful your work is. I'd like to hear more about your equipment and codecs used. When I saw the Clear Waters piece I thought it was shot here in Washington state in the Hoh Rain Forest. It was the movement of the entire piece that caught my attention and flowed so beautifully.
